The property was given the 1999 Best Private Development Award by the Wisconsin Downtown Action Council. Stone House Development developed the Southwest Hall in 2005 and it opened in the fall of 2006. The dorm consists of 376 beds. Stone House provided construction and permanent financing until the project was purchased by the state of Wisconsin.
